Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Cuentino (“Cuentino,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds a friendly invoicing app for freelancers and small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Cuentino iPhone app and this website at cuentino.xyz.
By creating an account or using Cuentino, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash). We send a verification code to confirm your email.
- Business and invoicing content. The data you create in the app — company profiles, logos, tax/VAT IDs, customers, invoices, line items, amounts, currencies, due dates, notes, and any bank or payment details you enter for your invoices.
- Text and voice input for AI drafts. When you use the “invoice from a sentence” feature, the text you type — or the transcript produced by your device from your speech — is sent to our servers so it can be turned into a structured invoice draft.
- Support communications. If you email us, we keep your messages and contact details to respond.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and log data. Like most online services, our servers record standard information such as IP address, device/app version, request timestamps, and error logs. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Voice note: Speech-to-text is performed by your device’s built-in speech recognition. Cuentino receives the resulting text, not an audio recording. Your device manufacturer’s handling of speech is governed by its own privacy policy.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account and authenticate you;
- Store, sync, and display your companies, customers, and invoices across your devices;
- Generate invoice drafts from the text or speech you provide;
- Produce the PDF invoices you export and share;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Maintain, protect, and improve the service, and detect abuse or fraud;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your invoicing content to advertise to you.
3. AI processing
The “invoice from a sentence” feature relies on a third-party large-language-model provider to interpret the text you submit and extract fields such as the client, line items, quantities, rates, tax, and due date. Only the text needed to build the draft is sent for this purpose. We do not use your content to train our own models.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Service providers. Infrastructure and processing partners that operate on our behalf, such as our cloud hosting provider and our AI provider. They may process data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Cuentino, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Each account is isolated — you only ever see your own companies, customers, and invoices.
5. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and access to your data is scoped to your authenticated account. We protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and invoicing data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, accounting, or security obligations.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit or delete most of your content directly in the app. To exercise any other right, or to request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.
8. International users
Cuentino is operated from, and your data is processed and stored on servers that may be located in, jurisdictions that may differ from your own. By using the app, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Cuentino after an update means you accept the revised policy.
